Actor Steve Zahn dies at 53

The beloved actor reportedly suffered a stroke on November 7th

HOLLYWOOD (AP) — Steve Zahn, loveable Hollywood actor and iconic star of movies such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010) and Daddy Day Care (2003) who most recently appeared in HBO’s White Lotus, has died, according to his publicist. He was 53.

On November 7th, Zahn reportedly suffered a stroke. Walter Simmons said Monday that Zahn “passed away peacefully in a California hospital earlier today surrounded by his family.”

“Steve was a cherished husband and father and also well loved as an actor,” Simmons said.

Zahn was in the middle of filming HBO’s White Lotus, and showrunner Mike White says it’s “unclear” how they will proceed with his character.
"There are so many things we'll miss about Steve," said White. "From his unflinching generosity to his consistent ability to surprise. But most of all he was just plain funny. No one was funny like Steve."
Jim Carrey tweeted that Zahn was “an honest and generous person.” Seth Rogen said "no one could make you break like Steve Zahn,” Jon Stewart said on Twitter. “Hilarious and unique.”
