Συγκεκριμένα η απόφαση του Ευρωκοινοβουλίου αναφέρει ότι η κατανάλωση προβάτων άνω των 6 μηνών θα απαγορευτεί από 1η Ιανουαρίου 2021 λόγω μεγάλης βλαβερής επίδρασης στην υγεία των καταναλωτών. Μετά από μελέτες που έγιναν σε κατοίκους της Ιταλίας και τις Ελλάδας που είναι δημοφιλής η κατανάλωση της ψητής προβατινας η επίδραση που έχει στην εμφάνιση καρδιακών επεισοδίων είναι τεράστια.
